Stretching roughly 150 km from La Línea de la Concepción near Gibraltar to Nerja, it spans the province of Málaga and parts of Cádiz, and hosts over 1.4 million residents. It started as small fishing villages and grew into one of Spain’s top tourist destinations during the 20th century, thanks to its sunny weather and popular beach culture.
