Since 1994, Genalguacil a pretty white washed village located in the Province of Malaga, has been the setting for a creative experience where art, life and nature come together in this incredible outdoor urban art gallery. The unique pieces dotted around the various plazas and streets in the town, are all thanks to the generosity of nearly a hundred artists such as painters, sculptors, photographers and potters, who have left their mark there. Some of the works reflect the local environment, through the use of indigenous materials and resources from the area.

TAKE AN INTREPID WALK ALONG EL SALTILLO BRIDGE!..
In the gorge which connects the towns of Sedella and Canillas de Aceituno, is one of the three biggest hanging bridges in Spain. The 50 metre long El Saltillo bridge is suspended over the river Almanchares, offering incredible views of the surrounding natural landscape. It connects part of the Canillas de Aceituno hiking trail, a spectacular route covering areas of the natural park, ravines and rugged mountains. The best place to start your walk is at the Canillas del Aceituno town hall, where you will be able to ask about the different route options.

The Nerja Cave is one of the most spectacular places to visit in Spain. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2006 and is considered to be a natural wonder of the Costa del Sol. The Cave is located close to the town of Nerja in the Province of Málaga. Stretching for almost 5 kilometres, the caverns have become one of Spain's major tourist attractions. Concerts are regularly held in one of the chambers, which forms a natural amphitheatre, providing great acoustics and an incredible experience.

Known as the Braveheart of the Costa Calida, this impressive fortress is located in the picturesque countryside of Teba, and is one of the largest castles in the province of Malaga. Dating back to the 13th Century, it was built to defend the large population scattered along the Guadalteba and La Venta rivers, dotted with numerous farmhouses. It had 18 towers that protected the population inside and even today you can see the remains of its cisterns, its first church and the extraordinary fortress that preserves its four story residential tower. There is a museum exhibiting original pieces where the participation of Sir James Douglas is explained, a Scottish knight who fought alongside the Christian troops in the conquest of the castle in 1330. He became a legendary hero in his native Scotland, and in the history of Teba. This hidden treasure, also known as Cascada Grande de Maro, is a waterfall located within the Cerro Gordo Natural Park in Nerja. With a height of approximately 15 meters, the cascade is formed when the water from the Nerja Caves flows through the Campillo stream falling into the sea. Known for its scenic beauty and tranquil surroundings, this natural space is the perfect destination for kayaking adventures and photography lovers. The best way to get to the waterfall is from Nerja, a nearby town well connected by the A-7 motorway from Malaga. From Nerja, head towards Maro following the N-340 toward Almuñécar. Once in Maro, follow the signs for the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Park. Access to the waterfall on foot is via a well-marked trail that leads through a picturesque natural landscape. The spectacular Laguna de Fuente de Piedra is located near Antequera in the Malaga Province. It is the biggest lagoon in Andalusia and is home to the largest colony of pink flamingos. These beautiful species are present all year round due to the change in temperature, though their presence will depend on the amount of water that the lagoon has. In autumn and winter there are usually small groups and from February, they arrive in larger groups of up to 8000 couples who will lay a single egg. Once these little ones learn to fly at three months, between August and September, they will leave for Africa.
