ADMIRE THE BEAUTIFUL BOTANICAL GARDENS OF TORREMOLINOS!..
Molino de Inca is a hidden gem located in Torremolins on the Costa del Sol, housing almost a thousand plant species, brought together in an oasis of natural tranquillity. It is evident here that the towns past is linked to the history of the mills; they were in use several centuries ago, owing to the springs in the area that enabled their development. Some were used for flour, and others for making brown paper or grinding bread. This latter use was the function of Molino de Inca (Inca Mill), the oldest of the mills. Today, this historic site tells the story of the mills in its museum, surrounded by enchanting gardens with a variety of plants and bird species, a Japanese garden, water features and working springs. Located on Camino de los Pinares, 29620 Torremolinos, the park is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am-6pm with a 3€ entrance fee. VISIT SMURF TOWN OF THE COSTA DEL SOL!..
This quaint blue washed village is Júzcar, located between Marbella and Ronda, and has a facinating story to tell. Júzcar was a typical remote country village, popular as a weekend destination for lovers of rural tourism, hiking and climbing. The traditional Andalucian town was once white-washed, but locals agreed to the unique colour change in 2011 when approached by Sony to promote the release of The Smurfs 3D movie. The PR stunt involved painting all the houses blue, including the church and the town hall. This made Júzcar such an unexpected tourist destination that villagers voted to keep the colour. You can still spot a few of the original characters, whilst meandering through the streets of this prretty town, which is full of charm, and a delightful place to visit.
